Charts and data visualization
Build charts with @pibbl/core/viz: scales, axes, data marks, inspection, and navigation that compose with Pibbl layout, signals, animation, and events. Start with a complete example, change its data in the playground, then follow the API links for precise behavior. No required chart container or separate animation loop.
Start with a chart
Section titled “Start with a chart”- Read the data visualization guide for allocation, scales, axes, and series.
- Edit a complete bar chart with embedded data.
- Browse every visualization API or complete minimal programs with live previews.
Choose your chart
Section titled “Choose your chart”| Use case | Public APIs and runnable examples |
|---|---|
| Trends and comparisons | LineSeries, PointSeries, BarSeries, and custom marks with PlotSeries |
| Grouped and stacked comparisons | Grouped bars, stacked bars, and grouped stacks |
| Parts of a whole | Pie layout and editable pie examples |
| Time and nonlinear data | UTC scales, log scales, and symlog and point scales |
| Financial analysis | Candles, OHLC bars, volume, and inspection, indicators, and oscillators |
| Uncertainty and scientific evidence | Intervals, interval bands, censored observations, weighted points, and summary diamonds |
| Before/after and repeated observations | PairedSeries and TrajectorySeries |
| Color encodings | Sequential, diverging, and threshold color scales |
Explore complete workspaces
Section titled “Explore complete workspaces”- Financial research workspace: coordinated financial charts and controlled editing.
- Live market monitor: streaming financial data and aggregation.
- Clinical forest plot: interval estimates and research evidence.
- Phase II participant trajectories: paired outcomes, individual courses, and missing observations.
These examples demonstrate the public rendering and interaction APIs. Statistical methods, data interpretation, and application data remain application-owned.
Interaction, inspection, and navigation
Section titled “Interaction, inspection, and navigation”Use HoverData for explicit data queries and rendered-series inspection to query captured geometry through the optional @pibbl/core/viz/inspection entry. Read ScaleAdjust for domain navigation, chart guides for references, and chart editing for controlled edits.
Keep labels, units, missing observations, and baselines meaningful. Provide an application-owned HTML summary or table for important Canvas information. The agent visualization guide covers coordinate conversion, ownership, and verification.
Documentation version
Section titled “Documentation version”Documentation built with @pibbl/core 0.0.2, revision dd39ce2. ALPHA — NOT FOR PRODUCTION USE.
