# untracked

`untracked(read)` invokes a synchronous callback and returns its result without
recording signal dependencies for the current consumer. It does not disable
component, primitive-render, computed, or scheduler write guards.

Related type: [`Signal`](/reference/types/canvas-runtime/#signal).
